Sold per piece, Emile Henry’s modern version of the Japanese cup is versatile and can be used for hot tea, miso soup, prep bowl, individual chocolate soufflés, appetizer dips, and so much more.Bowl capacity approximately 0.2 liters.
Inspired by the shape of Asian rice bowls, Emile Henry softened the edges, added beautiful glazes and finished if off with the potter’s stamp on the bottom, the Japanese Cup makes a sensational statement. The cup is modern, elegant, casual and refined and works as a bowl or cup. It is made from Burgundy clay so it retains heat longer at the table. It can be placed directly into a preheated oven or in the microwave so soups, stews and beverages can be heated directly in the cup.
Emile Henry has developed a unique manufacturing process, the Cerdon, which enhances the qualities of traditional pottery. An extremely hard enamel, which does not crack over time. You can cut directly into the dish. Flat resistant to shocks and chipping. Cooked at 1100 ºC, the earth and its enamel become very resistant.
